PenIQ ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the PenIQ keyboard application ("App").

1. Information We Collect

PenIQ is designed with privacy in mind. We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our services:

• Text Data: When you use PenIQ's AI features (rephrase, grammar fix, or translate), the text you select is sent to our servers for processing. This text is processed in real time and is not stored on our servers after the response is returned.
• Usage Metadata: We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics such as feature usage counts and error rates to improve our service. This data cannot be used to identify individual users.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your text data is used solely to:

• Rephrase text in your chosen tone
• Correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• Translate text to your target language

We do not use your text data for advertising, profiling, training AI models, or any purpose other than providing the requested text transformation.

3. Third-Party AI Processing

PenIQ uses Anthropic's Claude API to process text transformations. When you use an AI feature, your selected text is sent to Anthropic for processing. Anthropic's use of this data is governed by their privacy policy. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train their models.

4. Data Retention

We do not retain your text data. Text submitted for AI processing is transmitted in real time and discarded immediately after the transformed result is returned to your device. We do not maintain any database of user text inputs or outputs.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data during transmission:

• All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections
• API authentication prevents unauthorized access
• Rate limiting protects against abuse

6. Keyboard Data & Keylogging

PenIQ does not log keystrokes. The keyboard extension only processes text when you explicitly invoke one of our AI features. We do not monitor, record, or transmit any text that you type in the background.

7. Children's Privacy

PenIQ is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

8. Your Rights

Since we do not store personal data, there is generally no user data to access, modify, or delete. If you have questions about your data or wish to exercise any privacy rights under applicable law, please contact us.
